Dongil Kim, a citizen and national of South Korea, received a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Kyung Hee University in Suwon, Korea in 2009. Dongil Kim established the DAKHU Studio design and research lab under the auspices of Kyung Hee University’s Department of Architecture, and through the studio, won multiple prestigious regional, national and international awards including the extraordinary solar-powered design for the Taipei Pop Music Center International Competition in 2009, which was featured by CNN.com and designboom.com, and “Hydroscape City” for the Magok Waterfront International Competition. Mr. Kim has distinguished himself through his receipt of major awards, press reviews and by working for leading Korean architectural design firms, Samoo Architecture and KOMA Architects. Additionally, Mr. Kim has exhibited his work nationally and internationally and has had his work published in leading Korean journals.
